Delivering the State of Kuwait contribution to the Ban Ki-moon Center for Global Citizens.

HE Sadiq Marafi, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Republic of Austria and Permanent Representative to the International Organizations in Vienna, delivered the Chairmen of the Advisory Board of the Ban Ki-moon Center for Global Citizens, H.E. Ban Ki-moon and HE Dr. Heinz Fischer, the second instalment of Kuwait's contribution to the Center.

The State of Kuwait is one of the biggest supporters of the Ban Ki-moon Center for Global Citizens and is looking forward to hosting the Centre's third Board Meeting in February 2019.

As the international community marks the United Nation's World Humanitarian Day on August 19, the State of Kuwait continues its efforts to be a key player in this domain.

In recent history, Kuwait had played an integral part in launching several humanitarian initiatives to make sure that the suffering and the pain felt by the disadvantaged and the needy worldwide would be lessened.

Since the ascension of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to the leadership of Kuwait in 2006, the GCC country launched various humanitarian initiatives, which led to a UN honoring of Kuwait as a humanitarian center in 2014.

The UN also named His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah as a global humanitarian leader.

Kuwait, through His Highness the Amir, also contributed to international humanitarian conferences. His Highness Sheikh Sabah took part in the 2016 humanitarian summit in Istanbul.
