On the 15th of December, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia hosts the first Gulf Day International Conference.
A high-level Kuwaiti delegation is taking part in this conference, the Assistant Foreign Minister for GCC Affairs Ambassador Nasser Al-Muzain is leading the Kuwaiti delegation to the two-day event in addition to Kuwait's Ambassador to Austria, Permanent representative to the United Nations and Non-resident Ambassador to Slovenia H.E. Sadiq Marafi, Third Secretary Mr. Ali Alwazzan and Mr. Mohammad Al Mutairi Advisor to GCC Management Affairs.
Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development's representative Sheikh Ahmad Ali Al-Sabah is amongst speakers at a discussion panel on Development Paradigms.
Kuwait's Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Delegate to the United Nations in Vienna Sadiq Marafi has stated on Tuesday that the 2nd International Conference on Nuclear Security offers a good opportunity to exchange views and assess the progress made so far for boosting nuclear security, as well as further supporting the relevant efforts of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
In a statement, H.E. Sadiq Marafi added that the conference came at a time when the world was countering unprecedented challenges that posed threats to the international peace and security.
He pointed to the growing concern worldwide about nuclear security over the past years.
He also stressed the dire need for a sincere desire by the international community to work collectively to boost nuclear security.
The fifth session of the UN Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) concluded late Friday with approval of several recommendations on International cooperation in the field.
The meeting, headed by Kuwaiti Ambassador to Austria and its permanent envoy to International Organizations Sadiq Marafi, discussed Chapter IV of UNCAC on international cooperation to fight corruption, as well as legal measures needed to be taken in the matter.
